BREASTFEEDING CURRICULUM:

Aside from using the Breastfeeding teaching resources online, you will also have the opportunity to enhance your learning experience by shadowing one of the lactation nurses on post-partum at least one afternoon during your month here. Open to Travis residents on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday afternoons. Open to CCRMC residents on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons. Let your attending know ahead of time and coordinate with the lactation nurse during post-partum rounds in the mornings.

PUBLIC HEALTH HOME VISITS:

To give residents a chance to follow some of the high risk moms and babies discharged from our hospital, you will also have the opportunity to make a home visit one afternoon with one of the public health nurses. Residents will be scheduled for the last Thursday of their rotation. You will be given the contact information for the public health nurse you are assigned to work with. Call the public health nurse in advance to coordinate when and where to meet.
